My work focuses on façades, thoughts left unsaid, and connections and disconnections in relationships. I use the human form to represent moments of vulnerability with the focus left on experiences often kept private by social pressure. These components fuel an obsession with the human condition and human behavior.
An emphasis on exaggeration of body language often leaves my figures to be outsiders to their environments. This speaks of a jarring identity struggle that exists within and during moments of transition and confusion that remains hidden from others. I use a variety of surfaces to encapsulate the figure, creating a brightly colored façade and trapping their secrets inside.
